show some love!

Who would have thunk that linking up to Skip to My Lou would lead to- are you ready for this-over 80 visitors to my site in two days!  Two days people!  I have been at this blog thing since Jan 2010, have one follower and have only had about 10 hits on my site by people who have stumbled by because they were looking for something else on the web.  It is my fault for not being a better blogger and for not promoting my site but to be honest, I never really thought that anyone read it but my friend April.  I am totally stoked now!  As it turns out, I love the fact that so many people looked for a few seconds at my site.  I know that my site isn't anything big but now I totally feel cool.  My husband reassures me that I am still a weirdo and a nerd but I can't change that.

What I am trying to get at is share the love people!  Let me know that you are there!  I am greedy and totally bummed that 80 unique visitors looked at my site and not one comment to show me some love!  If I didn't have that tracker thingie on the side I would have never known you were there!  Toss me a bone and show me some love by leaving a comment and maybe I will post another cool craft thing that I have done.  In case you didn't know, I am crafty!

Nap Mat!

Well hello.  We have been busy this week with a visit from the favorite Aunt and Cousin from MD as well as Gramie.  While we were having fun, LM came down with a nasty virus that lead us to aftercare with a very sad little boy.  Mama and Dada smelled like vomit and poop if that tells you the story.

LM totally got into his cool Nap Mat.  He slept on it, pooped  on it and vomited on it many times this week.  Each time I just threw the entire thing (minus the pillow) into the washer and dryer and Bob's your uncle, it was set for round 2 or 3 or 4 or what ever we were on!  I got the tutorial from Prudent Baby.  I made a few modifications.  The pillow is made from minky fabric and made the envelope type pillow.  I made the blanket a bit longer.  When I attached it on the side, I folded the top edge over so he has a bit of snuggle room at the top. In these pictures, the pillow is actually folded over for some reason.

(Please ignore the mess, it was hard to keep everything clean, take care of a sick kiddo, disinfect, and visit with family)  Anywho, the nap mat was a life saver for us.

  • learned to jump
  • says "choo, choo"
  • became obsessed with anything train (love it when he gets all ocd and lines up everything he can get his hands on to create a train)
  • is obsessed with books
  • can hold an actual conversation
  • help put clothes in the dryer
  • loves bath time
  • fills my heart with love when he rubs his head against mine or places his tiny little hands on my cheek
  • rides his trike down the driveway
  • flirts with the ladies (any lady)
  • still has one blue eye and one that is half blue and half brown
  • still has his birth mark on his hand
